On Wednesday 27th March, a special lunch was hosted in the Wernher Restaurant to celebrate the apprentices who have completed their courses in the past year.
Elite Hotels place a high value on apprenticeships and have been awarded the “Investors in People” award for a number of years for all the fantastic work they are doing through training and development programmes.
The commitment of Elite Hotels to “Investors in People” means they have a passionate and progressive approach to career development and proactively encourage their employees to flourish in their roles.
Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in particular employs nine apprentices across the hotel’s varied departments and in the past years has focused on further developing apprenticeship opportunities across the business and on providing support and guidance to young people. Luton Hoo’s General Manager describes working with apprentices as a very positive and rewarding experience.
In order to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our apprentices a celebration lunch was hosted for the four apprentices that have completed their course in the past year.
The apprentices were joined by Matthew Long, our General Manager, and Marion Amort, our Training Manager for a 3-course lunch in the Wernher Restaurant together with a guest of their choosing.
The four graduate employees and their qualifications which they’ve achieved are:
- Amelia Shaw: Level 2 & Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration at Bedford College
- Ben Dullea: Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship at Westminster Kingsway College
- Ben Wale: Level 2 Greenkeeping Apprenticeship at Oaklands College
- James Weston: AAT Level 2 Foundation Diploma, Level 3 Advanced Diploma & Level 4 Professional Diploma at Bedford College
The aim of the lunch was not only to congratulate our apprentices on their fantastic accomplishments but also to thank the families for the support throughout their apprenticeship journey.
All four team members are progressing their career further in their chosen fields at Luton Hoo. Amelia has taken on the newly created position of Marketing Assistant while James was promoted to Accounts Assistant. Ben has joined our estates team full-time as Trainee Greenkeeper and Ben is perfecting his cooking skills on a higher level apprenticeship with Westminster Kingsway College as Chef de Partie.

We are now extending our apprentice programme to the Food & Beverage department. We are recruiting for Food & Beverage apprentices in the both Mansion House and the Country Club.
