Apprentice Chef Success at Luton Hoo

At Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, we believe that training and development is essential to ensuring the highest levels of customer service in all areas of the hotel and to create attractive career prospects for our talented team.

As part of our training and development programme, we offer apprenticeships in most departments of the hotel, where team members can gain on the job training alongside studying for career-enhancing qualifications.

We are proud to announce that Niamh Armitage has completed her Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship in partnership with Westminster Kingsway College – one of the best catering colleges in the country. Niamh joined the Luton Hoo team in September 2019 after visiting the hotel on one of our award winning work experience placements whilst still at school. She first started in the pastry department under the supervision of Executive Chef, Chris Mouyiassi, and has since developed her skills across all of the kitchens on the Luton Hoo estate.

Niamh is now progressing her apprenticeship journey and has started her Chef De Partie Level 3 Apprenticeship in March 2021.

Speaking on her apprenticeship journey, Niamh said: “I love the fact that I am working in all the 5 kitchens at Luton Hoo, Lounge, Banqueting, Fine Dining, Brasserie and Pastry. I get to experience everything. Everyone is showing me stuff all the time, they know I have never done anything like it before and every time something new or a particular skill comes up they teach me how to do it, which is amazing. It is great working with all these experienced chefs and learning from them.”
