Pop the leap year question at Luton Hoo

Leap Year is the traditional time that ladies can propose marriage - and where better to pluck up the courage to do it than in the romantic surroundings of Luton Hoo?

Arriving on Friday, February 29th, the couple will each enjoy a pampering 5 Senses Body Treatment, plus the use of the spa facilities for the day. The tradition that encourages women to pop the question dates back to 1288, when Scotland passed a law allowing women to propose marriage to the man of their choice. They also made it law that any man who declined a proposal in a leap year must pay a fine, which could range from a kiss to payment for a silk dress or a pair of gloves!
