The estate was acquired by the Elite Hotels Group in 1999 and was kept under wraps for 8 years while an extensive restoration and refurbishment programme was carried out on both the estate building and over 1,000 acres of grounds.
On 1st October 2007 the grand unveiling took place to reveal a 5 star luxury hotel in the finest traditions of English country house living. However, we have always believed that excellent service is just as important in making your experience unforgettable, and we were delighted to be named as the winner of Conde Nast Johansen’s award for Outstanding Service in the Annual Awards for Excellence 2011.
